The special release focused on 12 key points: patterns of domestic and foreign exhibition industry, global exhibition market, world exhibition cities, most influential international exhibition venues, world's most appealing exhibitions, globally most competitive exhibitors, provincial competition in China, exhibition city rankings, international feature comparison, development model domains, future trend forecast, paths to become an exhibition power, which received high recognition from the experts, leaders and industry and academia friends present. In addition to Shanghai MICEE Institute's Blue Book, the conference also released China Exhibition Economy Research Association's White Paper on China's Exhibition Industry Policies and Regulations, and Purple Paper of Exhibition Data Statistics.

Published by Social Sciences Academic Press and independently compiled by Shanghai MICEE Institute, Exhibition Blue Book: Dynamic Evaluation of Domestic and Foreign Exhibition Industry Development Report 2018 is included in the key books of the 13th Five-Year Plan and the Innovative Engineering series of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. It is the 3rd book published so far in the Blue Book series. Adhering to the global perspective and standing from China's needs, benchmarking international exhibition industry development and exploring paths to become an exhibition power, the research report serves as the data coordinate and world map for the Chinese exhibition industry to "go global" and "bring in", and has had profound influence on China's exhibition industry development since 2012. Professor Zhang Min pointed out that although China's exhibition industry has become an exhibition power in terms of scale and quantity, it still lags far behind developed countries in internationalization, marketization, informatization and branding. Entering the new era, high-quality development of the exhibition industry must meet the requirements of the times for personalized objects, globalized market, high-end planning, media-based display, delicate services and intelligent operation. Setting out again in the 40th year of reform and opening-up, China's exhibition industry will form distinctive strengths by further integrating with the world, and stand up to the tests of globalized competition, delicate operation, doubling growth and high-quality development amidst twists and turns, to build itself into an exhibition power.

China International Fair for Trade in Services, also known as CIFTIS, on a par with CIIE and Canton Fair, is jointly hosted by China's Ministry of Commerce and Beijing Municipal Government, and an important platform for China's high-quality economic and trade development. China's Authoritative Information Release Conference on Exhibition Industry is one of the most important events in the exhibition service section of CIFTIS, jointly organized by China Exhibition Economy Research Association, China Exhibition Standardization Committee, exhibition administrations of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, key domestic and foreign exhibition enterprises and industry media.
