Threshold Study of MIDI Music Festival - Xu Suhang

[Abstract] In recent years, the number of music festivals in China has surged exponentially. Attending music festivals has become one of the most popular revelry forms for modern young people. Why do people need revelry and music festivals, what is the relationship between them? How to create a good music festival and what kind of experience will it bring to the audience? These questions provoke deep thinking. For this reason, the author takes the Midi Music Festival, China's first original music revelry event, as a case study for in-depth analysis, in the hope of finding answers to these questions and the significance behind them. Based on the threshold of Midi, this paper argues that people's positive or negative evaluations of the Midi Music Festival are mainly concentrated on the unique threshold created by the festival, namely a themed time-space featuring rock music, jointly constructed by the organizer, performing bands and on-site fans.
