To promote the high-quality development of the exhibition industry, Vice Minister of Commerce Sheng Qiuping and his delegation held a colloquia on the high-quality development of the exhibition industry at the Shanghai MICEE Institute（SMI） on the afternoon of October 20, 2023. The executive dean of the SMI and professor at Shanghai University, Zhang Min, focused on reporting research on the recovery of the exhibition industry and providing suggestions for a better China International Import Expo(CIIE). Sha Yiwen, President of Messe Muenchen Shanghai Co., Ltd. and Wang Guoping, Chairman of Huamo Group, attended the colloquia as enterprise representatives and shared their opinions on the difficulties and problems in the post-epidemic era.

On the afternoon of October 11, 2023, the Haikou Municipal People's Congress and Commerce Bureau Exhibition Industry Legislation Research Group visited the Shanghai MICEE Institute(SMI) to discuss with the professors and students of the Institute who had been deeply involved in the legislative research on the Shanghai Municipal Exhibition Industry Regulations. Topics included the legislative ideas, functional goals, main contents, implementation paths and development issues of the Haikou Exhibition Industry Development Regulations, as well as the development issues of Haikou's exhibition industry.

On the morning of April 22, Ms. Cathy Brenden, CEO of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE), and Ms. Jia Zhenhua from IAEE China Office visited the Shanghai MICEE Institute(SMI) and had in-depth discussions with Professor Zhang Min, Executive Dean of the Institute at Shanghai University, on issues related to the exhibition industry and its education and training.

On the afternoon of November 16, the acceptance and review meeting for the sub-project of the Shanghai High-level University Construction Project, the "Multi-dimensional Intelligent Exhibition Innovation Platform Based on Multi-source Heterogeneous Network Database" of School of Journalism and Communications at Shanghai University was successfully held in hybrid format in Laboratory 306, Intelligent Communication Experimental Building of the School of Journalism and Communications.

In early winter, Shanghai MICEEInstitute(SMI) celebrated its 10th birthday. On December 5, 2021, one day before the 10th anniversary, SMI held its "10th Anniversary Celebration Academic Salon" with the theme of "Ten Years of Accumulation and Achievements" at the Think Tank Building of Shanghai University Baoshan Campus. Guests gathered with faculty and students of the Institute to share the fruitful achievements over the past decade.
