To promote the high-quality development of the exhibition industry, Vice Minister of Commerce Sheng Qiuping and his delegation held a colloquiaon the high-quality development of the exhibition industry at the Shanghai MICEE Institute（SMI） on the afternoon of October 20, 2023. The executive dean of the SMI and professor at Shanghai University, Zhang Min, focused on reporting research on the recovery of the exhibition industry and providing suggestions for a better China International Import Expo(CIIE).

In early winter, Shanghai MICEE Institute(SMI) celebrated its 10th birthday. On December 5, 2021, one day before the 10th anniversary, SMI held its "10th Anniversary Celebration Academic Salon" with the theme of "Ten Years of Accumulation and Achievements" at the Think Tank Building of Shanghai University Baoshan Campus. Guests gathered with faculty and students of the Institute to share the fruitful achievements over the past decade.

On January 9, 2020, the Humanities and Social Sciences Academic Exchange and Mobilization Meeting sponsored by the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Department of Artistic Creation of the Innovation Management Department of Shanghai University was held at Lehua Building of Shanghai University. Wu Minghong, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shanghai University Committee and vice president of Shanghai University, Li Anfang, director of the Shanghai Philosophy and Social Sciences Office, and Zhao Kebin, deputy director of the Research Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and executive deputy director of the Shanghai Academy, attended the meeting.

On November 7, 2019, the rhythmic overture of golden autumn celebrated the grand opening of the 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai! Just a few days ago, faculty and students from Shanghai MICEE Institute were invited to attend the 2nd Forum on Spillover Effects of China International Import Expo. The forum was co-hosted by Shanghai Huaxia Economic Research Academy, West Hongqiao Business District and Yangtze River Delta Think Tank Alliance, with the theme of contributing ideas and suggestions to the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region.

On May 30, 2019, Shanghai MICEE Institute's Blue Book Dynamic Evaluation of Domestic and Foreign Exhibition Industry Development Report 2018 was invited to participate in the China International Fair for Trade in Services in Beijing and make a special release at the Special Release Conference on China's Exhibition Industry in the exhibition service section. Zhang Min, editor-in-chief of the research report, executive dean of Shanghai MICEE Institute and professor at the School of Journalism and Communications of Shanghai University, attended the press conference.
