On the afternoon of March 26, the final expert review meeting for the "Yiwu Exhibition Industry 14th Five-Year DevelopmentPlan" project of Shanghai MICEE Institute was successfully held in Yiwu. The review experts included Prof. Chu Xiangyin, Executive Vice Chairman of China Exhibition Economy Research Association, Guo Mukai, Senior Economist and Former Chairman of Zhejiang Provincial International Exhibition Association, Liu Mingguang, Deputy Director of Department of Trade in Services of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce, Wang Jianming, Member of Decision-making Advisory Committee of Yiwu Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, and Zhang Jieli, Head of Exhibition Major at Yiwu Business College.

On the afternoon of November 19, the final expert review meeting for the project "Key Indicators and Initiatives for Shanghai to Build an International Exhibition Capital During the 14th Five-Year Plan Period", part of the 14th Five-Year Plan for Shanghai's exhibition industry, was held smoothly. This project is a key project of the 2020 Special Research on Commerce by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce. It was approved through competitive social bidding and expert review and defense. It was carried out under the leadership of the government department in charge and with the support of the exhibition industry.

On October 28, 2018, the mayor's report meeting for the "Wuxi Exhibition Industry Medium and Long-term Planning and Wuxi International Convention Center Functional Planning" undertaken by Shanghai MICEE Institute was held in Meeting Room 1816, Building 2, Wuxi Citizen Center. Li Xiaomin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Wuxi Municipal Committee, Wuxi Mayor Huang Qin, relevant leaders of the Wuxi Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, Wuxi Expo Affairs Office, Wuxi Urban Planning Bureau attended the meeting.

To further optimize and improve the research quality of the winning bid project and facilitate the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in promoting the new landscape of all-round opening up, Shanghai MICEE Institute held the kick-off expert consultation for the key project "Research on the Spillover Effects of the China International Import Expo" at Shanghai University on July 11, 2018. Experts including Gong Weigang, Former Executive Vice Chairman of Shanghai Exhibition Industry Association and Senior Business Advisor, Zhang Dingguo, General Manager of Shanghai Modern International Exhibition Co., Ltd. and Senior Exhibition Advisor, Lou Yuesheng, General Manager of Shanghai ZhengxinFangsheng Rating Co., Ltd. and Senior Exhibition Advisor, Zhou Daren, General Manager of Shanghai Xiehe Advertising and Exhibition Co., Ltd. and Senior Exhibition Advisor, and Prof. Yan Sanjiu, Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication at Shanghai University attended the meeting. Industry and academia experts conducted candid, in-depth and constructive academic exchanges on the kick-off report regarding the spillover effects of the CIIE.
